"Goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement."
- Brian Tracy
Ross Johnson has been the Information Technology Manager at Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College Tumbi Umbi Campus on the New South Wales Central Coast for seven years. He is an avid supporter of the NSW DEC Digital Revolution 1:1 laptop program and has transformed his school's technology focus and energies towards giving all students equal access and opportunity to develop their 21st Century digital skills.
Ross introduced the Photography & Digital Media elective to involve the students in the emerging technology of digital imagemaking, Adobe Photoshop, and digital art creation. A number of former students from this course are now working as photography professionals. He has also pointed his school’s technology education focus towards global recognition and certification to best prepare the students for entry into the marketplace.
It is his core belief that a digital, or paperless, classroom engages students and staff in using 21st Century Digital skills. An integral part of this is using the skills of a global network of technology savvy educators to best provide a dynamic learning environment for his learners.
Ross has presented lectures and workshops at regional and state levels on a number of different Adobe products, but his preferred software application is Adobe Acrobat, which he uses to enhance student learning and connectedness.
