As director of Math, Science, and Technology at Northeastern Illinois University's Chicago Teacher's Center, Roxana Hadad designs, develops, and implements MST program services for Chicago-area students and teachers. She believes that empowering students to take an active role in their education and community will help them become lifelong learners and civic participants.
Before working at the CTC, Hadad was the project and instructional designer for Northwestern University's Collaboratory, a web-based collaborative environment for teachers to develop project-based activities. She received her Master's degree from New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and has Bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has been named a Google Certified Teacher, an NYU Graduate and Professional Opportunity Fellow, and a National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Fellow.
In addition to her work at the CTC, Hadad teaches game design and is a freelance illustrator and animator. Her addictions include peanut butter; traveling; and Adobe® Flash®, Illustrator®, and Photoshop® software and Acrobat.com.
