"Learning and mastering new technologies energizes me and provides me with new tools to meet the needs of my amazing and challenging students."
Sara Martin has been a technology coordinator and computer literacy teacher in the Hart-Ransom School District since 1996, focusing on project-based learning that integrates core subject curriculum with technology. She seeks to ensure all her students (grades 4 through 8) gain computer literacy skills — especially using her favorite, Adobe® Photoshop® Elements software — they can apply in future academic and nonacademic settings. And she hopes to instill a lifelong love of learning.
Committed to sharing her knowledge and experience, Martin also trains staff in her school district, local county office of education, and elsewhere and conducts digital photography and editing classes for local camera stores. And she participates as a conference presenter as often as possible; in 2006, she earned a Best of Show award at NECC San Diego.
Martin earned a BS degree from the University of California, Davis, in 1976; a teaching credential from the California State University, Stanislaus, in 1989; and, more recently, an MA in Educational Technology from California State University, Sacramento.
