"Learning to swim in the Internet ocean ought to be an essential part of school education today."
— Bill Kerr
Sherry Ziolkowski designs and maintains her school district’s website; collaborates with teachers to create meaningful and interesting websites that support the district curriculum; and supports administration and staff on such topics as Web 2.0, CSS, PHP, Mac OS X, and digital photography. She is most concerned that her sites engage and enrich the students.
In addition to creating websites, Ziolkowski collaborated with the school district’s coordinator of public information and personnel director to develop a rich media CD for prospective district employees. She loves receiving positive feedback, whether in emails from students and teachers around the world or in the form of awards. The CD, for example, has won several awards, including a National School Public Relations Association Award of Excellence, as have her curriculum websites, including a recent Best of the Web award from the Center for Digital Education.
Ziolkowski also presents on a variety of topics at state technology conferences. Past presentations have described the use of technology tools such as Adobe® InDesign®, Dreamweaver®, Fireworks®, and Flash® software and Apple iLife.
