Currently a full-time teacher at Westwood Schools in Camilla, Georgia, Vicki Davis is transforming the way people think about teaching and teachers. Her co-created Flat Classroom project has won numerous international awards, distinguishing it as one of the top global collaborative projects in the world. Other projects including NetGenEd (with Don Tapscott), Digiteen, Eracism, and the Flat Classroom Conference have brought together almost 5,000 students and educators from more than 25 countries and growing. Davis's students have done pioneering work in all types of media including virtual worlds (Open Sim), collaborative global wikis, innovative video projects, and more.
Davis has written for many publications including "Educause Review," Edutopia, ISTE, and Cable in the Classroom. Her blog, the Cool Cat Teacher blog, has won numerous awards as one of the top blogs in education. She has an upcoming book called "Flattening Classrooms, Expanding Minds: Global Collaborative Practices that Go the Distance," which she is coauthoring with Julie Lindsay. It will be available from Pearson Publishing in January 2012.
