"To boldly go where no man has gone before. Live long and prosper."
— "Star Trek" TV series
Volker Altevogt trained as a media designer and teacher of media and print technologies. Today he teaches print and media technology and German communication at a vocational school to students who apprentice as media designers.
Altevogt carries out projects in IT rooms with state-of-the-art-equipment and software. This approach offers small groups the opportunity to work in "islands of creativity." His students gain self-confidence and skills in organization and public speaking. They discover the power of working in a team as they acquire software expertise and skills. His students have been very successful in regional and national contests.
In 2007 a new school form was founded focusing on young people 17 to 21 years of age. This form requires one year of study to improve the students' software and hardware skills so they can qualify to get an apprenticeship or enter advanced training in media design and photography.
