Wolfgang Schlicht teaches math, physics, and IT at the Staatliche Realschule Viechtach (a German high school). As a technology training specialist, he has been helping students, educators, and employees of the local educational administration develop skills in digital photo editing, desktop publishing, multimedia, and web development since 2003.
He has offered his students a course called "Medienkunst" (Arts and Media) in collaboration with an arts educator since September 2009. These students can use Adobe® Photoshop® and Adobe Illustrator® software in very creative ways. They present their results in a public exhibition at the end of the school year. The course participants also take part in many competitions. Last year, for example, they won the Naturvision contest with an animated short film. The main actor, a stag beetle, was created with Illustrator and Photoshop. Furthermore, Schlicht initiated a relationship with Certiport so that students in his course can take part in the ACA certification at school.
Schlicht specializes in teaching educators and students to use Adobe InDesign®, Acrobat® Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Contribute® software. At the moment, he is acquiring knowledge in Cinema 4D, a 3D application that works well with the Adobe software and that has huge potential for creative work. He also tries to inspire his photography students and make them more aware of picture manipulation in their daily environment, especially in advertising and in the yellow press.
