Peter Hall is a design critic and senior lecturer in design at the University of Texas at Austin, where his research focuses on mapping as a design process. From 2001 to 2007 he was senior editor and fellow at the University of Minnesota Design Institute, where he coedited with Janet Abrams the book "Else/Where: Mapping New Cartographies of Networks and Territories." He taught in Yale School of Art's Graphic Design MFA program and has been a contributing writer for Metropolis magazine since 2000. He wrote and coedited the books "Tibor Kalman: Perverse Optimist" and "Sagmeister: Made You Look." Since 2006, he has been vice president and co-organizer of DesignInquiry, a nonprofit educational organization devoted to researching design issues.
