Penetration across a wide spectrum of devices
Growing support for the Adobe® Flash® Player and Adobe AIR® runtimes on a broad range of devices is made possible through the ecosystem of partners in the Open Screen Project™ (OSP). Current mobile operating systems for Flash Player include Android™, BlackBerry® Tablet OS, and HP webOS.*
By the end of 2010, over 35 models of smartphones were certified for Flash Player, and over 20 million smartphones either shipped with or downloaded Flash Player. In addition, over 84 million smartphones and tablets (on Android, BlackBerry, and iOS) were addressable using Adobe AIR.
In 2011, according to Strategy Analytics' latest estimates, over 40 models of smartphones will be supporting Flash Player in the first half of the year. By the end of 2011, over 132 million smartphones — approximately 36% of total 2011 smartphones — will support Flash Player, and over 50 models of tablets will ship with or be able to download Flash Player. In this same time frame, Strategic Analytics also estimates that over 200 million smartphones and tablets will support applications built for Adobe AIR.
