1. The Distribution service to mobile devices is available as a free beta service. Adobe reserves the right to change the pricing, availability, and other aspects of the service during and after the beta period. Initially, the configuration to enable mobile sharing can be done only by using the Distribution Services extension for Adobe Flash CS4 Professional and is not available for applications created with Flex Builder 3 or Dreamweaver CS4.
FEATURES
Sharing
Adding a Share menu to your application enables its viral distribution. Users can add the application to their social pages, mobile devices, or desktops through the Share menu. The Share menu can be added using the extensions to Flash Professional, Flex Builder 3, or Dreamweaver.
Promotion
Paid promotion provides guaranteed installs for applications that might not otherwise be easily discovered by users. When you buy promotion for your application through the Distribution Manager, the Gigya network starts offering your application to users when they are embedding another application through the Share menu. Users often choose to get both the original application and the promoted application. Promotion is available on a cost-per-install basis so advertisers pay only for successful installs, not impressions. Advertisers can get up to tens of thousands of daily installs through paid promotion.
Ad hosting
Ad hosting enables developers and publishers to generate revenue by hosting promotions for other applications within their own application. If you turn on ad hosting through the Distribution Manager, when the user brings up the Share menu, the user may get the offer to install another application along with your application. Since ad hosting through the Distribution service happens only within the Share menu, the ad does not occupy any real estate on the application. Developers and publishers can display other ads in the application space.
Tracking
When you add the Share menu to an application, you automatically start generating a comprehensive set of analytics. The data includes traditional metrics such as views and unique users as well as social metrics such as installs and stickiness. Campaign reports and revenue reports are also available.
