FAQ

What is the Fireworks beta?
The next version of Fireworks, will take prototyping to the next level. We have made the Fireworks beta available to you so that you have the opportunity to use it and provide us feedback on the future product release.
Why release a version of Fireworks that is not yet complete?
Feedback from the community is a crucial component of our software development process at Adobe. By releasing an early version of Fireworks, we anticipate discovering issues sooner that will ultimately help improve the quality of the product.
Can I get any technical support?
Technical support is not provided; however, members of the Fireworks team will be participating in the user-to-user community forums.
How do I know if I’m qualified for the Fireworks beta?
You can download and try out the Fireworks beta for 48 hours. In order to activate the Fireworks beta and use it beyond the 48-hour trial period, you must be a registered owner of either Fireworks CS3 (full, upgrade, or education) or Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard, Web Premium, Master Collection, or Design Premium (full, upgrade, or education).
Who should use Fireworks?
Both web designers and web developers should use Fireworks.
Are any other products within the Adobe Creative Suite available as betas?
Yes, Adobe Dreamweaver® and Adobe Soundbooth® are both available as betas.
Will the Fireworks beta support the 64-bit visual?
Fireworks is still a 32-bit application, but this does not prevent it from running on a 64-bit OS such as Windows Vista or Leopard. We have been testing Fireworks on 64-bit operating systems, and so far it functions well. Although Fireworks seems to work on a 64-bit OS and we support it, it is not built to take advantage of 64-bit instructions and it presently does not make use of 64-bit functionality.
What are the system requirements?
The system requirements include support for Windows and Intel-based Macs.
Are there any training materials available?
