Papervision 3d Project: What went wrong, What could be improved
I spent some time this summer working on a new homepage for the basement using Papervision. It was mainly a learning experience and the project never saw the light of day... partly due to the fact that it hogged cpu and partly due to the face it didn't turn out quite like we had hoped. You can see for yourself here. The only objects in the screen are 3D planes and custom 3D geometry. The (translate)

Transfer Survey, now open!
I've put together a short Google Forms survey on Transfer to get some consolidated feedback from the community at large on what people are doing with Transfer, what features they want in the future, and what can be done to improve it overall. It isn't limited to just people who are using Transfer. If you are not, I also want to hear your reasons why, as hopefully it is something that ... (translate)
Creating our Domain Objects - ColdBox Series Part 6
Now that we have our database tables set up from our UML and our folder structure has been created we can begin creating our domain objects (Technically we could have done it first, it could probably be argued both ways). Code Generator I am going to use Brian Rinaldi's Illudium PU-36 Code Generator to help create my domain objects. Since Illudium uses the database tables to create the objects, we needed to have the database set up first. To see the MySQL DDL script check out part 2 of this series. [More] (translate)
Have you seen this man?
He supports an expansion of stem-cell research. He's made nuclear nonproliferation a priority. He favors combating global warming with a “cap and trade” system. He supported a bill to expand the governments eavesdropping authority and to protect telephone companies that cooperated with the program from being sued. He embraces the idea of continuing Bushs faith-based initiative. He said he was picked last on a sports team as a boy. He said it taught him to work hard and persevere. His favorite childhood Halloween costume was a pirate. (translate)
My Top 10 Web Design Tools
I had already started working on a blog post with my top 10 most useful Web design tools but, like many other things these days, I had continually postponed finishing it in favor of "more important things". Like client work... ;-) But I saw a post today on the Visualrinse blog that tackled the same topic so it prompted me to finish mine. As mentioned in the above blog post, we all have our own favorite working methods, tricks and tools for completing projects and, as I have already mentioned here before, I have really tried to refine my process (translate)
Parallel Coordinates Plot in Flex
I spent the past few weekends writing a parallel coordinates plot. For the uninitiated, parallel coordinates plots are used to show the relationships between items in a multidimensional dataset. Three dimensional data points can be difficult enough to visualize on a two dimensional screen, and when you throw even more dimensions into the problem, things [...] (translate)
Preparing for Flash in the Can in Seoul
Well, I am now in Seoul preparing for tomorrow’s Flash in the Can at COEX. Looks like being a great show with the likes of Joshua Davis, Erik Natkze, Kyle Cooper, Euna Seol, Ralph Hauwert, Marcos Weskamp and yours truly doing the keynote - ‘The Future of the World of Flash’. With Flash CS4, AIR, FlashLite [...] (translate)
