Improved printing experience
Overview of features
With Adobe® Photoshop® CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended software, you'll experience better control over print quality with color management, a larger print preview window, and more controls in one place so you can print in fewer steps.
The following features are available to all organizations who purchase Photoshop CS3 or Photoshop CS3 Extended:
- Printer and Page Setup buttons can be selected in the main print dialog box.
- Portrait or landscape orientation can be selected using the icons underneath the print preview.
- Number of copies can be selected in the main dialog box.
- The print preview is larger and can be color managed.
- The print preview is both larger and consolidated into a single dialogue.
Improved printing controls, co-developed by Adobe and HP, make printing easier and more predictable, and streamline setup options via integration with select printers from HP, Epson, and Canon. Adobe is enabling the following features that can be supported at the discretion of our printer manufacturer partners:
- An integrated icon that can be used to launch the color calibration utility or printer management toolbox
- Availability of device calibration information and management in the dialog box
- Automatic synchronization of color management settings between Photoshop, the printer driver, and the operating system
Operating system requirements
In order to take advantage of the full feature set listed above, organizations must have one of the following operating systems:
- Microsoft® Windows Vista™
- Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 and .NET 3.0
- Mac OS X v.10.4

Support by manufacturer
HP
Support for the Photoshop printing enhancements will be available in select HP printers, including:
- HP Photosmart Pro B9180
- HP Designjet Z2100
- HP Designjet Z3100
HP's ProPrint plug-in for Photoshop, included with many HP printers, also delivers a simplified experience when printing from Photoshop.
Epson
Epson printers support Photoshop printing enhancements in Microsoft Windows Vista and will offer support in the coming Mac OS X v.10.5 (Leopard).
Support for the Photoshop printing enhancements will be available in select Epson printers, including the Stylus Photo R2400, R1800 and R800. For more information, visit the Epson web site.
Canon
Canon will support Photoshop printing enhancements with select PIXMA printers, including PIXMA Pro9000 and PIXMA Pro9500. Support for Photoshop printing enhancements will be available for Microsoft Windows Vista and the coming Mac OS X Leopard. Canon Easy-PhotoPrint Pro, Photoshop plug-in, provides a powerful, easy to use print experience for PIXMA Pro9000 and PIXMA Pro9500 users.
