Each year we contribute at least 1 percent of company pre-tax profits to the Adobe Foundation, a private foundation created and funded by Adobe. In 2012 we provided more than $8 million in grant funds to education and arts organizations worldwide.
Beginning in 2013 we’re providing increased funding in communities where we have the largest employee populations. We’re also incentivizing our employees to make their own monetary donations and volunteer their time.
The Adobe Foundation supports programs and organizations that help make our communities better, stronger, and more vibrant places to live, work, and do business. Adobe Foundation Community Grants support programs that inspire creative solutions to challenges in local communities. These grants address local challenges that affect the communities where our employees live and work, utilizing creative and innovative solutions to have a positive impact. Our Community Grants program is employee driven with employee teams involved in identifying organizations, reviewing proposals, and leading grant selection.
The Adobe Foundation supports creativity as a force for social innovation and for improving communities. We believe imagination and design are tools to raise awareness and inspire creative solutions. The Foundation's Creativity Grants are focused on empowering people to communicate new ideas, tell their stories, and envision solutions for improving society. These grants support eligible nonprofit organizations and educational institutions worldwide with programs, projects, or activities that focus on inspiring creative solutions to issues through the use of technology and design tools, visual or multimedia, education, and innovative collaborations.
Nonprofit organizations and educational institutions around the world use our software solutions to promote creative expression and social advocacy.
To help these users conserve resources, gain efficiencies, and enhance communication and collaboration, we donate current software products to more than 15,000 nonprofits each year. In 2012 our software donations enabled more than $50 million (fair market value) in cost savings for nonprofit organizations.
By matching donations of time, money, or securities to eligible nonprofit organizations and schools, we’re able to significantly increase the impact of our employees’ generosity through our Matching Grant program. Adobe matches up to $10,000 per employee per year, and in 2012 nearly 20 percent of our workforce participated in the program. We hope to increase participation and have an even greater impact in 2013.
