Flash glossary: Filters
Adobe Flash Professional includes filters (graphic effects) that enable you to add interesting visual effects to text, buttons, and movie clips. Select an object on the Stage and use the Property inspector to apply filter settings. If desired, you can animate the filters you apply to objects using motion tweens.
Use the Timeline to animate filters applied to objects. Create two keyframes that contain the same object with different filter values and then create a motion tween to see the filter effect animate over time. For example, you can animate a drop-shadow:
Tweened objects must have the same filter applied at both the beginning and end of the animation. Flash will add the filter automatically to the second keyframe when the tween is created. However, if you manually remove it, Flash will use the filter settings applied to the beginning keyframe of the animation.
