If you want to create highly interactive, expressive applications that dramatically enhance the user experience, there's no easier way than with the combination of Adobe® ColdFusion® 9 application server, Flex 4.5, and the Adobe AIR® runtime.
Flex 4.5 is a highly productive, free, open source framework for building expressive web applications that deploy consistently across browsers, desktops, and operating systems. ColdFusion allows you to connect those applications to virtually any enterprise data source or service quickly and easily.
In addition to the new capabilities in ColdFusion 9 and Flex 4.5, the combination of Adobe ColdFusion Builder™ and Adobe Flash® Builder® 4.5 software offers an optimized development experience for rapidly building rich Internet applications (RIAs).
ColdFusion 9 features
ColdFusion Builder and Flash Builder 4.5
ColdFusion 9 introduces an exposed services layer for many enterprise services that can easily be accessed via the Adobe Flex® 4 SDK using prebuilt MXML tags that consume these services. Additionally, any ColdFusion component (CFC) can be called from a Flex application with ease. This means that logic you've previously written for traditional HTML applications can power RIAs without any changes required to your server-side code.
ColdFusion 9 also provides integration with Adobe AIR, enabling you to create applications that can be accessed both online and offline, with reliable data management. Using SQLite in the client and object relational mapping (ORM) on the server, ColdFusion 9 manages conflict resolution and data synchronization when your AIR application comes back online.
ColdFusion Builder and Flash Builder 4.5 are Eclipse™ based tools and include many data-centric development features that make it extremely easy for ColdFusion developers to create data-driven Flex applications. These features include:
When you purchase ColdFusion Builder 2, you receive Flash Builder 4.5 Standard at no extra cost. Or, purchase Flash Builder 4.5 Premium, and get ColdFusion Builder 2 at no extra cost.
