Providing FTP or SFTP information

The purpose of this dialog box is to edit FTP or SFTP server information for CPS-managed website connection.

To provide FTP or SFTP information:

  1. Enter the FTP address of your server.
  2. (Optional) Deselect the Users must enter their own username and password check box only if you plan to use a shared FTP or SFTP account for all users.

It is recommended that you require users to use their own FTP or SFTP account information. Deselecting this option might present a security risk. For more information, see Deploying Contribute and Contribute Publisher Server.

  3. If you deselect the Users must enter their own username and password check box only, enter your FTP user name.
  4. Enter your FTP password.
  5. (Optional) To configure FTP to work with a firewall, click the Advanced button. For more information, see Setting advanced connection settings.

Some organizations use a firewall, a system that prevents unauthorized access to an intranet from outside. If your organization has a firewall, you may need to configure Contribute to work with it. You would also need to know whether your firewall supports passive FTP and whether you must provide a firewall host name and port number. If you are not sure how the firewall supports FTP access, see your organization's network administrator.
