Providing WebDAV information

The purpose of this dialog box is to edit WebDAV server information for CPS-managed website connection.

To provide WebDAV information:

  1. Enter the web address (URL) for the WebDAV server.

The web address used by the WebDAV server is typically different from that used to serve the site. The WebDAV address may have a port number appended to it, or other WebDAV designation.

  2. (Optional) Deselect the Users must enter their own username and password check box only if you plan to use a shared WebDAV account for all users.

It is recommended that you require users to use their own account information. Deselecting this option might present a security risk. For more information, see Providing FTP or SFTP information.

Note: It is recommended that you require users to use their own WebDAV account information. Make sure users understand how to enter their own login information--many users don't understand that WedDAV login information is different from their network login information. It's a good idea that your FTP, SFTP, or WedDAV accounts tied to your user directory service so that users do not have to know or remember another password

  3. If you deselect the Users must enter their own username and password check box only, enter your WebDAV user name.
  4. Enter your WebDAV password.
  5. (Optional) To encrypt connection information for all websites, click the Advanced button. For more information, see Setting advanced connection settings.

This option prevents unauthorized users from modifying your website when using the locally installed copy of Contribute.
