| Using Flex Builder 2 > Flex Builder Basics > Working with Projects > Managing projects > Closing and opening projects | |||
To save memory and improve build time without deleting a project, you can close it. When you close a project, you collapse the project and its resources while keeping a reference to it in the Navigator view. A closed project requires less memory than an open project, and is excluded from builds. (To delete the project from the workspace or the file system, see Deleting projects.)
You can easily reopen the closed project from the Navigator view.
When a project is closed, its name remains visible in the Navigator view. You can select the project and either reopen it or delete it. The following example shows a closed project in the Navigator view.
