In 2012, we replaced underperforming annual performance reviews with ongoing Check-in conversations between employees and their managers. The result? Voluntary attrition dropped and morale soared as employees felt more nurtured and managers felt more empowered. And now, we've open-sourced our tools and resources so other companies can start Check-in programmes of their own.

So in 2015, we established the Adobe Creative Residency — a programme that gives two talented artists the opportunity to focus on a personal creative project for one year and to share their work and discoveries with the creative community.
