Who is Presedia and what do they do?
Presedia is a leading provider of online presentation and e-learning solutions for online training, sales, marketing, and corporate communications. Privately-held Presedia was founded in 1999 and is based in Sunnyvale, Calif.

Presedia’s flagship solution, Express, is a server-based communications, presentation, e-learning, and training solution. Training departments and line-of-business users in sales, human resources, and marketing use Express to create, manage, deploy, and track presentation and training materials. Among the many uses of Express are sales and channel training, employee communication and development, compliance and certification, and product training.

Why has Macromedia acquired Presedia?
With the addition of Presedia Express, Macromedia is extending its leadership in the online communication, training, and e-learning markets. Our market-leading desktop products such as Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, and Authorware have helped developers bring great instructional content to the Internet. Now, Presedia Express will help the organization as a whole solve the business problems associated with rapidly deploying and tracking instructional content.

How does this acquisition fit with the Macromedia strategy of enabling the best digital experiences?
Macromedia is motivated by the belief that great experiences build great businesses. Our software already empowers millions of developers and designers to create and deliver effective, compelling, and memorable experiences—on the Internet, on fixed media, mobile, and devices. We believe that non-technical business users have the same potential to create powerful digital experiences, and that e-learning and training is a key growth area for the coming years. Today, Express joins Macromedia Contribute in a growing family of Macromedia Information Convenience solutions aimed at enabling non-technical professionals to create and deliver great information experiences without deep technical training.

What are the terms of the deal?
The terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

Will the founders of Presedia take on roles at Macromedia?
Presedia founders Kevin M. Lynch and Keith Kitani, along with the entire Presedia team, will join Macromedia and continue to lead product line direction and development.

How will this acquisition benefit Presedia customers?
Presedia customers will benefit from increased integration with the market leading technologies, solutions, and comprehensive support programs offered by Macromedia.

How will this acquisition benefit Macromedia customers?
Express adds to the line of Information Convenience solutions we started with Macromedia Contribute. We believe these offerings complement the solutions millions of designers and developers create with our market-leading tools and servers. It enables them to work with their customers in new and exciting ways to create amazing digital experiences.
