Director 8.5 Shockwave Studio Announced
The new studio, featuring 3D authoring capabilities jointly developed with
Intel, will provide developers with a flexible, extensible, and robust 3D content
creation solution. The studio, which is supported by leaders in the 3D industry,
also includes a new version of the Shockwave Multiuser Server and support for
both Macromedia Flash 5 and streaming RealMedia content. (See

Partners to Drive Macromedia Flash Ubiquity
on Devices
Macromedia announced today that it is working with BSQUARE Corporation and
DT Research, Inc., which will both work with OEMs and other system developers
to port and integrate the Macromedia Flash Player to Internet-enabled devices
such as set-top boxes, thin clients, Internet appliances, and other mobile
and wireless smart devices.

JRun Passes J2EE Certification
JRun, a Java technology based application server, successfully passed Sun Microsystems'
comprehensive Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) test suite to achieve
Sun's J2EE compatible brand. Macromedia JRun makes the advanced capabilities
of the J2EE platform broadly accessible to the entire Java development community.

Macromedia today launched a new Web Site Production Management Techniques site
(available at http://www.macromedia.com/resources/techniques/)
to serve as a resource to developers who work in teams to produce Web sites.
The resource site will enable Macromedia developers to share information on
