Macromedia ColdFusion MX for BEA WebLogic Server
is part of the ColdFusion MX for J2EE Application
Servers product line. Designed to enable developers
to construct rich Internet applications and web services
applications using high-level scripting, ColdFusion
MX can dramatically increase development productivity
and lower costs across IT organizations. Both experienced
Java developers and web application developers without
Java programming skills can easily leverage ColdFusion
MX to build and deploy applications on the BEA WebLogic
Enterprise Platform faster than ever before. A trial
download of Macromedia ColdFusion MX for BEA WebLogic
Server is available at www.macromedia.com/go/cfmxbea/.
"Thousands of customers rely on the standards-based
BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform because of its proven
performance and reliability," said Andrew Littlefield,
senior director of product management, BEA Systems.
"With the productivity benefits of ColdFusion
scripting, WebLogic customers can reap even greater
returns from their investment in BEA WebLogic."
"Macromedia ColdFusion MX can bring the ease
of use and productivity of ColdFusion to this industry
leading Java platform," said Jeff Whatcott, senior
director, Macromedia. "This release expands the
reach of ColdFusion MX technology and offers customers
a way to further leverage their investments in the
BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform while benefiting
from the rapid development capabilities of ColdFusion
MX."
Deployed as a standard Java application, ColdFusion
MX for BEA WebLogic Server can provide a robust productivity
layer that enables development organizations to better
leverage their investments in J2EE infrastructure.
Using high-level ColdFusion scripting, built-in services,
and seamless integration with the Java platform, ColdFusion
MX can provide a fast track to J2EE for developers
who already know ASP, CFML, PHP, or other scripting
languages. By adding rapid server scripting to their
J2EE environment, organizations can empower non-Java
developers to tightly collaborate with Java developers
to deliver integrated, standards-based rich Internet
applications while reducing costs and development
time.
"Because ColdFusion MX is very easy to learn,
developers of all backgrounds can quickly ramp up
to participate in J2EE projects," said Sue Aldrich,
senior vice president and senior consultant, Patricia
Seybold Group. "Macromedia ColdFusion MX for
J2EE helps organizations investing in J2EE to reduce
costs and deliver results significantly faster than
achieved by using Java alone for application development."
"By combining the scalability and security of
BEA WebLogic Application Server with the productivity
of ColdFusion, we can rapidly build and deploy applications
that are reliable, standards-based, and incredibly
flexible," said Todd Peters, president, PaperThin,
Inc., a Macromedia Alliance partner. "ColdFusion
MX for WebLogic functions as a productivity layer
on top of J2EE and now everything we love about J2EE—integration,
portability, and security —is married with the
rapid development and ease of use of ColdFusion."
