The central element of a corporate identity is a logo. The Macromedia logo presents a balance between creative excitement and comfortable, trustworthy reliability. Because the Macromedia logo is by far the most often seen expression of our brand, it is crucial to follow these usage guidelines.

These guidelines apply to all Macromedia logos found on this page with exceptions noted in the individual logo entries below.

Permissions
Other companies cannot use the Macromedia brandin print,
multimedia, or on a Web sitewithout the express written
permission of Macromedia. Permission to use the brand can
be obtained by sending e-mail to brand@macromedia.com.
In general, permission to use the Macromedia brand is granted
only to companies with whom we have a direct business relationship.
Developers or customers can use the Made with Macromedia logo
by joining the Made
with Macromedia program.
Trademark Information
Proper trademarks and credit lines must be used with Macromedia
corporate logos. Macromedia is a registered trademark of Macromedia,
Inc both in the United States and internationally. The Macromedia
logo is a trademark of Macromedia, Inc.
Fonts
The word Macromedia is set in lowercase Vonnes Book Extended.
The fonts used in the logo may not be changed. A second line
of text containing the tagline may be used in special cases.
The tagline is set in all lowercase Vonnes Medium Italic.
Colored Backgrounds
The color scheme of product identity elements is dependent
upon their background color. Use these guidelines for different
background color situations.
On white or other light background
The left oblong is black; the right inverted "v" is Macromedia Blue; all text is black. No variations are permitted.
On black or other dark background
The left oblong is white; the right inverted "v" is Macromedia Blue; all text is white. No variations are permitted.
On Macromedia Blue or other similarly colored background
The left oblong is black; the right inverted "v" is white; all text is white. No variations are permitted.
Print Specifications
Size
If resizing is necessary, the logo must be scaled in direct proportion to the original, and all words must be legible.
Colors
The Macromedia corporate logos are Macromedia Blue, black, and white. No variations are permitted.

Grayscale Versions
The grayscale versions of the Macromedia logos are to be used for one-color print jobs only (also see fax version below). Specifications are the same as for the color versions but the Macromedia Blue portion of the logo becomes gray (65% black).
On light colored backgrounds:
The left oblong is black; the right inverted "v" is gray (65% black); all text is black. No variations are permitted.
On dark colored backgrounds:
The left oblong is white; the right inverted "v" is gray (65% black); all text is white. No variations are permitted.
Outline Version
The outline version of the Macromedia logos are to be used for one-color print jobs only. Specifications are the same as the color versions but the Macromedia Blue portion of the logo becomes gray (65% black).
On light colored backgrounds:
The oblongs are outlined in black; all text is black. No variations are permitted.
On dark colored backgrounds:
The oblongs are outlined in white; all text is white. No variations are permitted.

Web & Screen Specifications
Size
Bitmap versions of the Macromedia corporate logos must not be resized. Use the exact size of the supplied bitmap, or obtain new bitmaps from Macromedia.

Macromedia corporate logos are Macromedia Blue, black, and white. No variations are permitted.

Macromedia Logo #1
This is the main corporate logo. It is used in all print, multimedia, and Web projects unless otherwise specified. Use this version of the logo on all corporate materials, such as corporate advertising, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, fax forms, press releases, annual reports, Web home page, and trade show banners and signs.
Macromedia Logo #1 with Horizontal Tagline
This is the main corporate logo with the Macromedia tagline. Use this version of the logo on corporate materials, such as corporate advertising, press releases, annual reports, Web home page and trade show banners and signs.
Macromedia Logo #1 with Stacked Tagline
Only use this logo if you have space constraints.
Macromedia Logo #2
This is the secondary corporate logo. Use this logo only when it is necessary to emphasize the graphic element of the logo. Do not use this logo on stationery.
