Create and apply paragraph tags.
Use the Paragraph Designer to define and name the paragraph
tags you want to use in your document. Then apply them to paragraphs,
as appropriate.
Paragraph tags determine the formatting for different
kinds of paragraphs, such as body text or headings. To apply a paragraph
tag, click a paragraph, and choose a tag from the pop-up menu in
the formatting bar. You can import tags from another document by
choosing File > Import > Formats, selecting Paragraph
Formats, and choosing the other document. (You can import paragraph
formats only from documents that are currently open in FrameMaker.)

Format the master pages.
Choose View > Master Pages. Then format the master
pages in your document as desired.
To add a master page, choose Format > Page Layout
> New Master Page. To rename an existing master page, display
it and then click the page name in the status bar, type a new name,
and click Set. To import master pages from another FrameMaker document,
choose File > Import > Formats, choose the other
document, and select Page Layouts. (As with paragraph formats, you
can import master pages only from open documents.)

Create the master pages table.
Choose View > Reference Pages to display the
document's reference pages. Choose Format > Page
Layout > Apply Master Pages to add the MasterPagesMaps reference
page. (Click OK to the alerts.) This reference page contains the
UnstructMasterPageMaps table. Press Ctrl + Enter to add a row, as
needed.
The UnstructMasterPageMaps table determines which paragraph
tags map to which master pages. Each row in the table maps one paragraph
tag to its master page. To import a table that was created for another
document, choose File > Import > Formats, select
Reference Pages, and then choose the document (which must be open).
Note that importing the table overwrites all the reference pages,
including those with HTML mapping tables.
