Adobe Acrobat - How To Create Accessible Adobe® PDF Files Booklet

Testing Your Adobe PDF Files for Accessibility
Once you have a tagged Adobe PDF file, it's strongly recommended to test the file using a screen reader. This will show you how the information in the document will actually be presented to users, and how well such things as the reading order and navigational links will work.

To test Adobe PDF files for their accessibility with screen readers:

  1. Start a screen reader, such as GW Micro's Window-Eyes or Freedom Scientific's JAWS for Windows.
  2. Start Acrobat and open the Adobe PDF file in it.
  3. Use the screen reader to read the document. For more information on either screen reader, see the documentation that came with it.
