Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat plug-in buffer overflow

Adobe has discovered a buffer overflow in Adobe® Reader® and Adobe Acrobat® software. This issue has been addressed and a product update is available. Adobe highly recommends updating your Adobe Reader and Acrobat software to the latest version for your platform and language.

Adobe Reader 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x on Windows®; Adobe Reader 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x on Macintosh; Adobe Reader 7.x on Linux® and Solaris™; Adobe Acrobat 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x on Windows; Adobe Acrobat 5.x, 6.x, and 7.x on Macintosh

Recommendations:

There are different product updates available depending on your version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. To find out which version of Adobe Reader (or Acrobat) you currently have, choose Help > About Adobe Reader (or Help > About Adobe Acrobat). The version number appears in the upper left corner below the product logo.

• Update automatically (Adobe Reader and Acrobat 6.x and 7.x)
  Updates can be done automatically from within the application for Adobe Reader and Acrobat version 6.x through 7.x. To automatically update your software, choose Help > Check for updates now.
  
  
  
  
• Update manually (Adobe Reader and Acrobat 5.x, 6.x and 7.x)
  Adobe strongly encourages all Adobe Reader users to upgrade to the latest version to take advantage of the enhancements that can help protect users from security vulnerabilities. Download the latest version now. After upgrading, follow the automatic update instructions described above. Updates can also be downloaded and applied manually for Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat versions 5.x and later.
