In addition to the Administration API and customizable server logs, take advantage of a number of tools in Adobe Media Server software (formerly Adobe Flash® Media Server) that can help you manage your media, deliver optimized streams, and evaluate the overall health of your software.
Adobe FLVCheck tool
FLVCheck lets you verify that a video file will run properly on Adobe Media Server. The tool supports MP4 and FLV files and can be used in Windows® or Linux®.
Adobe AMSCheck tool
AMSCheck provides information about whether the server is running or not, what the response time is, and which Adobe Media Server core processes are not responding. This tool can be used in Windows or Linux.
ActionScript 3.0 Dynamic Streaming Class

This ActionScript® 3.0 class is the fastest way to help improve experiences through multibitrate delivery. It includes algorithms that provide the best available bitrate monitoring and transitions that are easy to use and deploy. You can use these classes with Adobe Flash CS4 Professional and later, Flex 3, or the Adobe Flex® SDK. This sample code can be used in Windows, Linux, or Mac OS.
Adobe FLVPlayback 2.5 for Flash CS4 Professional and Flex

This updated version of the FLVPlayback component in Flash CS4 Professional and later increases the streaming performance and quality for VOD and live streaming. With significant bug fixes for streaming, full support for Dynamic Streaming, and live DVR functionality, this is the fastest way to get started streaming on the Adobe Flash Platform. This component is ActionScript 3.0 only and can be used with Flash CS4 Professional and later and, for the first time, Flex 3, or the Flex SDK.This sample code can be used in Windows, Linux, or Mac OS.
These server-side ActionScript components, included with Flash Media Server prior to version 4.0, will no longer receive updates. To install, unzip the compressed file into the Adobe Media Server installation directory.
Adobe F4V Post Processor

Flash Media Server version 3.5 and later and Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 and later can record content in MPEG-4 (F4V) format using an industry-standard recording technology known as "fragments" or "moof atoms." Some MPEG-4 compatible tools and players do not support moof atoms and therefore cannot recognize files recorded by Adobe Media Server (previously known as Flash Media Server). The F4V Post Processor tool aggregates the information from all the moof atoms into a single moov atom and outputs a new file. Use the F4V Post Processor tool to prepare F4V files for editing in Adobe Premiere® Pro software, delivery over HTTP, or in video players that support H.264 and AAC formats. This tool can be used in Windows or Linux.
DVRCast application for Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 or later

DVRCast is a prebuilt server-side application for Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 or later. It can be used for small- to large-scale deployments to make it easy to add network-based DVR functionality. This application can be used with your own custom applications or with the FLVPlayback 2.5 component. DVR-enabled live streams allow viewers to pause live video and resume playback from the paused location or rewind, play the recorded section, and seek to the live section again. LiveStreamCast application for Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 or later
LiveStreamCast is a prebuilt sample server-side application to help cluster Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 or later for live video delivery. LiveStreamCast can be used for large-scale deployments of live streaming as an alternative to using Origin/Edge configuration. LiveStreamCast creates a three-layer structure that is extremely scalable across public and private networks. This application can be used easily with custom video player applications in the Adobe Flash Player or Adobe AIR® runtimes. This sample code can be used in Windows or Linux.
