Adobe Ideas is a sketching software app that gives you the freedom to create high-quality design work while away from the desktop. A simple, vector-based application, it is compatible with powerhouse desktop tools such as Adobe Illustrator® and Photoshop® software and enables you to begin designing on your tablet.

Adobe Ideas is ideal for you if you are a design professional who uses Illustrator or Photoshop and would like the convenience of designing on your tablet virtually anywhere. You can freely sketch using vectors and layers (a photo layer and a drawing layer), and choose and save color themes. Complementing the basic set of essential drawing tools is the ability to zoom while sketching and always see cleanly rendered vector lines. Also, easily zoom in for amazing detail without seeing big pixels.

Open Adobe Ideas to begin freely designing with vectors, layers, and color themes. When you're ready to move to Photoshop or Illustrator for further refinement you have some options:

• From within Adobe Ideas create a free Adobe Creative Cloud membership and sync your Ideas projects to the cloud. Then access your Creative Cloud account from your desktop computer and open the .idea file using Illustrator CS6. If you're using Illustrator CS5.x you'll need to download the Touch App Plug-in, available on the Apps and Services page of Creative Cloud.
• Sending your Ideas project as an email will create a PDF file which can be opened by any version of Photoshop, Illustrator, or Acrobat.

Adobe Ideas for iOS is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Adobe Ideas for Android is available in English only. However, the touch-based interface is designed to be intuitive enough for users in any language.

Adobe Touch Apps require a compatible Android tablet running Honeycomb 3.1 or later and a minimum screen resolution of 1280x800.  An Internet connection is required to transfer files with Adobe Creative Cloud.

Yes, Adobe Touch apps can be used without an Internet connection. However, you cannot upload files to or access files from Creative Cloud without an Internet connection.

No. When you purchase one of the Adobe Touch Apps and sign up for a free Creative Cloud membership, there is no additional cost to use the file management and sharing capabilities in Adobe Creative Cloud.

Customers who sign up for an annual membership to Creative Cloud or who buy a 12-month prepaid card at a retailer or online store will be eligible for a free month of Creative Cloud when they purchase and sign in from three qualifying Adobe Touch Apps from the Android Market or Apple App Store. This includes Adobe Collage, Adobe Debut, Adobe Ideas, Adobe Kuler, Adobe Photoshop Touch, and Adobe Proto.

Customers who purchase an annual membership directly from Adobe and qualify for this offer will not be charged for the month of service following sign-in from their third Touch App.

Connectivity between the Adobe Touch Apps and Creative Cloud (to sync, store, and share files), to enable mobility to “work anywhere”, is provided as a benefit of membership. Use Adobe Creative Cloud to access your creative work virtually anywhere. Easily move between Adobe Touch Apps and Creative Suite. View, access, share, and present your creative work anytime, anyplace.¹

You can easily upload files from your Adobe Touch Apps to Adobe Creative Cloud, as long as you have an active Internet connection. Upload files from your app to access them from your computer for further work in Creative Suite, or to share with others. You can also upload files created with Creative Suite applications to Adobe Creative Cloud from your computer, and then access them from your tablet for elegant presentation using Adobe Debut.

You can import or upload files using Adobe Creative Cloud when using the following Touch Apps:

• Adobe Ideas for Android
• Adobe Kuler
• Adobe Photoshop Touch
• Adobe Proto

To upload files to Adobe Creative Cloud from your tablet, tap the Adobe Creative Cloud icon located in the top right bar of your Adobe Touch App.  After signing in, choose the files you wish to upload to Adobe Creative Cloud and tap OK.

To upload files from your desktop, navigate to https://creative.adobe.com and sign into your Adobe Creative Cloud account. From here you can either click the upload button to add files from your desktop, or you can simply drag and drop files from your desktop to the browser. Your files will now be stored in Adobe Creative Cloud and will be accessible in the Adobe Touch Apps.

After you’ve logged into Adobe Creative Cloud from your desktop, you will be able to download files for access in Adobe Creative Suite components. To download a file, check the box next to the file you would like to download and click the Download File button that appears. The Download File button is also accessible on the file preview page.

Creative Cloud will make it easy to transfer your Adobe Ideas artwork to Illustrator for further refinement.  Sync and store .idea files in Creative Cloud, then open them with Illustrator CS6 for further refinement. To open .idea files with Illustrator CS5 or CS5.1 you'll need to download and install the Touch App Plug-in available on the Apps and Services page of Creative Cloud.

Most files can be uploaded and shared from Adobe Creative Cloud. In addition, many creative file types can be previewed directly in a web browser on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. These include PSD, AI, INDD, JPG, PDF, GIF, PNG, Photoshop Touch, Adobe Ideas, and others.

An Adobe ID is typically your current email address. A verified Adobe ID, plus your password, gives you access to Adobe Creative Cloud to use with your Adobe Touch Apps. You can create an Adobe ID by creating one within your Adobe Touch App. 

When you share a file, the recipient will receive an email with a public URL that will take them to a presentation view of the file. Anyone with access to the public URL will be able to view the file, and download the file or comment on the file if you’ve enabled these options when sharing.

If you sign up for a free Creative Cloud membership, you will get 2GB of storage space to sync, store, and share your files. If you become a paid member of Creative Cloud, you will get 20GB of storage space. Learn more about Creative Cloud membership.

The view, access and share features of the Adobe Creative Cloud work with most popular browsers and operating systems.  Internet Explorer versions 9 and below do not support selecting multiple files for upload to Adobe Creative Cloud.

With Adobe Creative Cloud, security is considered at every level, from applications to networks to physical facilities. In addition to the latest technologies, world-class security requires ongoing adherence to best-practice policies.

Adobe Creative Cloud uses some of the latest technology available for Internet security. When you access a service, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology is used for both server authentication and data encryption, helping to ensure that your data and documents are available only to you and the users you authorize. The service issues a session cookie only to record authentication information for the duration of a specific session. The session cookie does not include the username (Adobe ID) or password of the user.

Adobe Creative Cloud leverages firewall protection, intrusion detection systems, SSL encryption, and proprietary protocols to protect your important information. The services are hosted in a protected server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to help prevent interference or access from outside intruders.

Services hosting facilities are protected by multiple layers of physical security, and only authorized personnel may access the facilities and servers. In addition, all facility access is logged, and logs are regularly reviewed and protected from outside access. All data center equipment has physical protections in place against data theft and environmental hazards in order to prevent assets from being lost, damaged, or compromised and to prevent interruption in business activities.
