I want to download the Adobe AIR Runtime for my personal computer. Am I in the right place?

You do not need a distribution license agreement to download the Adobe AIR Runtime for individual use. You can download the Adobe AIR Runtime installers you need from our Downloads page

Which installer formats are available through the licensing program?

Adobe provides the Adobe AIR runtimes installers and installer files in the following formats: EXE and DMG.

Can I distribute the Adobe AIR Runtime on an operating system if a version specific to that OS is not provided?

No. Distribution is permitted only on operating systems for which installers or packages are provided. You can only redistribute the Adobe AIR Runtime on Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems as outlined in the redistribution agreement license. View licensing options

Can I license the Adobe AIR Runtime for distribution on CD-ROM or for my company or educational institution intranet?

Yes. If you follow the Adobe AIR Runtime Distribution License Agreement application process and are approved by Adobe, then you may distribute the Adobe AIR Runtime on a CD-ROM within your organization’s Intranet. View licensing options

Can I make the Adobe AIR Runtime available directly from my website?

No. The Adobe AIR Runtime distribution agreement does not allow you to distribute it from your website. You can use the Adobe AIR Runtime Seamless Install Badge on your site which downloads and installs the Adobe AIR Runtime to the end users systems as part of the application installation

Can I redistribute the Adobe AIR Runtime as part of a native installer or with my product’s installer?

Yes. If you follow the Adobe AIR Runtime Distribution License Agreement application process and are approved by Adobe, then you may distribute the Adobe AIR Runtime or include the installer files with your product’s installer only for purposes of installing the Adobe AIR Runtime or your Adobe AIR application. However, the Adobe AIR Runtime installation locations or settings cannot be altered. You also may not distribute the Adobe AIR installer files or the extracted Adobe AIR installer files within your product installer for any other purpose than installation of the Adobe AIR runtime or your Adobe AIR Application.

Note: Deploying Adobe AIR via Group Policy Objects (GPO) or Active Directory is not a supported option. If you require this type of deployment please send email to license-air-enterprise@adobe.com so that Adobe can notify you when that feature becomes available.

Can I install the Adobe AIR runtime silently?

Yes, the Adobe AIR Distribution License Agreement allows you to install the Adobe AIR runtime silently. You cannot however, bypass the EULA display.

Can I modify the Adobe AIR Runtime installers or installer files?

No. The Agreement does not allow for modifying the installers that are provided via the Adobe AIR Runtime Licensing Agreement in any way. You may incorporate the Adobe AIR Runtime installer and/or Installer files into your native installer in stand alone form or as part of another product installer. However, the Adobe AIR Runtime installation locations or settings cannot be altered. You may not distribute the Adobe AIR installer files or the extracted Adobe AIR installer files within your product installer for any other purpose than installation of the Adobe AIR runtime or your Adobe AIR Application.

Can I distribute or use the Adobe AIR installer files, self extracting installer, or Adobe AIR components extracted from the installer with my software application for purposes other than installation?

No, the agreement does not allow you to distribute or use any Adobe AIR installer files, self extracting installer, or any Adobe AIR runtime libraries or components as part of your software product. You may not distribute, modify, or use any Adobe AIR library or component in an undocumented manner or use these files to bypass a) the installation of the Adobe AIR runtime and your Adobe AIR application b) bypass the installation of your Adobe AIR application or c) bypass the Adobe AIR Runtime EULA agreement displayed to the end user.

What type of distribution and uses are not allowed?

Hosting the Adobe AIR runtime on your website or any public website. You may not host the Adobe AIR Runtime or installer files on your website.
Distribute or use the Adobe AIR runtime, installer files, or extracted installer files in an undocumented manner or purpose. For example, you may not distribute, call directly, or write wrappers for any of the Adobe AIR libraries or runtime components within your software application. Runtime.dll, Runtime executables, template.exe, and template.app are examples of Runtime Components.
Modify or redistribute the Adobe AIR runtime, Adobe AIR runtime installer files for the purposes of bypassing the Adobe AIR runtime installation, AIR application installation, or EULA acceptance. For example, you may not create software that enables end users to invoke or run Adobe AIR or an AIR application without installation.

Can I install the Adobe AIR Runtime to a location on disk other than that specified by the provided installers?

No. The installers must be used as-is as provided by the Adobe AIR Distribution Licensing Agreement.

Can I make the Adobe AIR Runtime available on my Intranet using server-workstation software like Citrix?

Yes, with restrictions. You may make the Adobe AIR Runtime available using servers that create instances of software programs on workstations within a closed environment only, for example within your secured intranet or private extranet. You cannot use this or any means, however, to provide any Adobe AIR Runtime over the open web, for example for visitors to your website.
