As a result it is highly recommended that existing applications are rebuilt to take advantage of the new architecture and features.

- It is recommended that projects created with the Data Connection Kit be maintained in Macromedia Flash MX. The Data Connection Kit used the Macromedia Flash MX component architecture and ActionScript 1.0, while Flash MX 2004 uses version 2.0 components and ActionScript 2.0. It is not recommended to mix the two architectures.
