Government

In an increasingly connected and digital world, web technologies play a key role in all aspects of government. The Adobe® Flash® Media Server family provides a flexible and trusted set of tools for interaction and media delivery based on the most widely installed application in the world: Adobe Flash Player. The ubiquity of this runtime provides Adobe government customers with unparalleled reach to citizens, businesses, and other agencies. Whatever your agency's mission, Adobe solutions can help you simplify the business of government — anytime, anywhere, and through any medium.

Use cases:

Training

A new security screening process is being put in place at all federal buildings. With Flash Media Server, secure on-demand video training can be made available to all staff, allowing fast implementation across the country, saving the cost of in-person training. Encrypted streaming is achieved with Flash Media Interactive Server, with videos being delivered directly to the employees in a browser-based player, built on Open Source Media Framework. Videos are batch encoded into a Flash Player compatible format in Adobe Media Encoder.

Live Events

A state government with a tight budget cannot afford to produce a large-scale debate between gubernatorial candidates for their upcoming election. With FMS, they can affordably broadcast one or more large-scale debates, helping to better inform their citizens while saving money. They develop their media player quickly and efficiently using Open Source Media Framework. Flash Media Live Encoder, a free download from Adobe.com, allows them to broadcast a live high-definition stream to a Flash Media Flash Media Interactive Server and Flash Media Enterprise Server, which then delivers the stream to citizens viewing via Flash Player in the browser.

Secure Video Communication

A federal intelligence agency requires the utmost security and privacy in their communications. With FMS, they can securely communicate by sharing video, audio and data over an encrypted connection for applications ranging from on-demand reconnaissance footage to live video chats — saving time and money in travel for meetings and briefings. Live video can be broadcast using Flash Media Live Encoder or via webcam in Flash Player. On-demand content can be batch encoded with Adobe Media Encoder. Flash Access content protection can then be applied to the media, either using the real-time packager for live, or the on-demand packager for recorded content. Flash Media Interactive Server then adds another layer of protection through stream encryption, SWF Verification, and by avoiding caching.
