Adobe FrameMaker Publishing Server 11 contains a license that specifically permits the use of FrameMaker on a server or in an automated environment. The EULA for FrameMaker 11 more tightly defines the license for use interactively on an individual user's desktop. For new installations where Adobe FrameMaker will be used in a server-based or automated environment (for purposes such as automatic catalog or database publishing or generating personalized documents, customized books, or digital publications), you will probably need to purchase a license for FrameMaker Publishing Server 11. If you are already using a previous version of FrameMaker Server (7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 8, 9, or 10) and you would benefit from using the new features in FrameMaker 11 in an automated environment, you can purchase a license to upgrade to FrameMaker Publishing Server 11.

“Computer” means one or more central processing units (“CPU”) in a hardware device (including a Server) that accepts information in digital or similar form and manipulates it for a specific result based on a sequence of instructions. “CPU” means central processing units on computers used to operate the Software provided that: (a) all CPUs on a Computer on which the Software is installed shall be deemed to operate the Software unless Licensee/You configures that computer (using a reliable and verifiable means of hardware or software partitioning) such that the total number of CPUs that actually operate the Software is less than the total number on that Computer; and (b) when a CPU contains more than one processing core, each group of two (2) processing cores, and any remaining unpaid processing core, will be deemed one (1) CPU.
