About Macromedia HomeSite
Why is this release English-only, ESD only?
We continue to listen to what our users are telling us, both in their product
purchasing decisions and in their feedback.
Over the past few releases we've noticed that more users are moving to the English version
of the product and are purchasing through electronic download. By focusing our efforts
on this one platform, we were able to spend more time developing and enhancing features.
All owners of 4.5 and 5—any language—can pay to upgrade to 5.5 English. See the
upgrade guide for more details.
Why is this not a full product release?
We've incorporated ongoing planning and feature development for HomeSite into
an update point release to coordinate with the schedule of other product
releases from Macromedia. The new version of HomeSite+, which is based on
the HomeSite 5.5 release, will ship with the next version of Dreamweaver.
Will Macromedia continue to develop HomeSite?
Macromedia is continuing to develop features for hand coding. It's company policy,
however, to not provide details on future product development efforts.
