Use a flexible framework for personalized document generation

With the Adobe® LiveCycle® Output ES3 module, you can merge XML data from back-end systems to generate dynamic, personalized documents — such as statements, correspondence, confirmations, bids, shipping labels, and more — in PDF, PostScript®, PCL, or label formats. Generate single documents from specific templates, a group of documents from one template, or a document package that uses a variety of different templates. You can also apply consistent pagination, indexing, resizing, headers/footers, and tables of contents across all documents in a package. And if you're using LiveCycle Output ES3 in conjunction with Adobe LiveCycle Forms ES3, you can include interactive forms as part of the PDF document package.

Streamline template development

Included with LiveCycle Output ES3 is Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES3, a precision and intuitive layout tool you can use to create templates that dynamically lay out based on the XML data. The dynamic layout helps ensure that documents accommodate the volume of merged data by including or excluding design elements, growing to create space for data, and paginating automatically. You can also take advantage of fragments, which are collections of fields, objects, and scripts packaged together in a reusable component (for example, address blocks or financial information sections). Fragments make it easy to quickly create new documents using prebuilt fragments and to automatically update changes to documents that leverage global fragments.

Close the communication loop with interactive documents

New with LiveCycle Output ES3 is the ability to create Adobe Flash® technology–based interactive documents called PDF Portfolios. With PDF Portfolios, you can assemble documents, drawings, e-mail, spreadsheets, data, and rich media — including video, audio, 3D, and maps — in a single, compressed PDF Portfolio. And you can do it on the server, integrated with content management systems.

Create end-to-end document generation solutions

LiveCycle Output ES3 comes with Adobe LiveCycle Workbench ES3, an Eclipse™ based IDE that allows developers, designers, and business analysts to work together collaboratively. You can also use Output ES3 alongside other LiveCycle ES3 modules for extended functionality and organizationwide security policies. For example, use Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES3 to encrypt and control access to documents or monitor documents outside the firewall with the use of audit trails. Or use Adobe LiveCycle Digital Signatures ES3 to publish "certified" documents that prove authenticity for recipients. You can extend the return on investment (ROI) of legacy Adobe document output applications by using the Central Migration Bridge, which allows existing Adobe Central Pro Output Server data transformations and Adobe Output Designer template renders to be integrated within the Adobe LiveCycle Enterprise Suite 2 (ES3) platform.
