Capabilities
Accelerate process application delivery
Allow business and IT teams to collaboratively design, test, deploy, and monitor end-to-end business processes — with no coding — using a single, executable process model throughout the process lifecycle. An integrated repository offers a centralized location where work is saved, versioned, archived, and exported for collaborative process design.
Business analysts can graphically define processes using a standard Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), incorporating process flows and business rules. For process interaction methods that best fit individual needs, analysts select from two different mechanisms: PDF forms and user interfaces (UIs) based on the Adobe® Flex® framework.
UI designers and developers use the exact same assets and turn them into executable process applications through easy linkage with the appropriate services. Project teams draw from a library of reusable services and adapters that significantly speed up integration with core business applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise content management (ECM), directory services, databases, and web services.
Engage process participants everywhere
Deliver a variety of process interaction styles that best match individual comfort levels and access requirements. Participants can interact with processes online or offline using dynamic PDF forms. For those individuals who may need help interacting with more complex processes, you can also provide guides and highly engaging RIAs.
Efficiently manage process tasks
Use the Adobe LiveCycle Workspace ES3 module to efficiently manage and respond to all assigned tasks. Tasks are presented in a simple To Do list that you can search, sort, prioritize, escalate, and delegate. Team members receive notifications based on their preferences, such as when new tasks are assigned to them or when service level agreements (SLAs) are in jeopardy. Developers can easily create custom workspaces for users that tailor the work list to individuals' business requirements. Process participants can also review, approve, or reject tasks through any e-mail client as well as manage their task lists through mobile devices.
Proactively manage customer problems and SLAs
Create dashboards to monitor process cycle times, backlogs, work queues, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in real time. You can then enable alerts, reminders, calendars, and escalations to alert analysts to potential performance issues, so they can take corrective action before problems occur.
Decrease the cost and time of deployment
Whether you choose PDF- or RIA-based process interaction styles, you can significantly reduce the cost and time of deployment through building UIs once, without special coding or testing for specific browsers or operating systems. By deploying process interaction UIs in the runtimes of Adobe Reader® and Flash software, you can focus on building the UI once and have it successfully reach end users running any platform.
Empower business users to create and manage ad hoc content reviews
When used in conjunction with other LiveCycle ES3 modules, such as PDF Generator, Reader Extensions, Rights Management, Process Management ES3 enables business users to create and manage ad hoc content reviews without involving IT. Using an intuitive Flex based interface, users can publish content; create a list of reviewers (including ones outside the organization); and define approval stages, deadlines, and escalation guidelines. The content is then automatically converted into PDF, enabled for inline commenting, rights protected, and distributed. Users can monitor and modify the process at any time.
Dynamically adapt your processes to rapidly changing business requirements
When business requirements shift, it's easy to adapt by changing various components of process applications, including services, business rules, task assignment rules, UIs, and forms. Process Management ES3 enables you to rapidly change these assets and to deploy modifications without affecting running processes. Since deployed assets are versioned, organizations can roll back changes when needed.
