- What types of support are available if I need help?
- As a registered owner of the current version of an Adobe product, you are eligible to receive complimentary person-to-person support on issues related to installation and unexpected behavior, including crashes and errors caused by the Adobe software. There is no charge for this service; you pay only for the cost of the call. - Do Creative Suite 3 applications support Mac OS X Leopard (v10.5)?
- Yes, Creative Suite 3 applications support Mac OS X Leopard. Some CS3 applications require free updates for full compatibility, while others are compatible without updating. Learn more about compatibility between CS3 applications and Leopard here.
- What platforms does Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 support?
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, including Encore CS3, is available for Windows and Intel® based Macintosh systems: Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2; Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, Ultimate (certified support for 32-bit editions only), or Mac OS X v. 10.4.9.

- Why isn't Adobe developing PowerPC versions of Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Encore CS3?
- Adobe creates and distributes upcoming releases based on customer requests and market direction. Because Apple is no longer selling PowerPC® based Mac systems, and considering the hardware needs of most video professionals, it did not make sense to continue supporting an older computer architecture that Apple no longer sells or supports. While we have made our best effort to develop our software for both PowerPC and Intel based Macs, in order to get our Mac solutions out to market in a timely manner not all Adobe Creative solutions support both PowerPC and Intel platforms.
- In what languages is Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 available?
- Adobe Premiere Pro is available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish.
- I recently bought a copy of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Can I exchange it for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3?
- Customers who purchased Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 between March 27, 2007 (May 8, 2007, in Japan) and August 28, 2007 (August 28, 2007, in Japan) are eligible for a complimentary upgrade to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 when it ships. Shipping charges may apply. This offer is available only through Adobe and applies to purchases made from Adobe or Adobe authorized resellers. To obtain the upgrade, you will have to call the Adobe Customer Service Center at 800-585-0774, and Adobe will ship the products directly to you. - Is Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 a universal binary application?
- No. Adobe Premiere Pro and Encore do not support PowerPC Macintosh systems; they run only on Intel based Mac systems and Windows systems.
- Does Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista?
- Although Adobe Premiere Pro is not a native 64-bit application, it can run on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista. In this configuration, you can install up to 64GB of RAM in the system, and Adobe Premiere Pro can address up to 3GB of this RAM.
- What system speed does Adobe recommend to get the maximum benefit of native real-time editing?
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 has a scalable architecture, so the performance scales with the speed of your system. The minimum system requirements for your workflow depend on the type of content with which you plan to work. - What third-party hardware does Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 support?
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 works with a variety of third-party hardware, from DV camcorders and decks to HD and SD hardware. - Does Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 support AMD processors?
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 works with AMD processors that support SSE2. Note that the AMD Athlon XP processor does not support SSE2 and is therefore not supported by Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
- What support do you offer for DVD delivery?
- Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 includes and is tightly integrated with Encore CS3, the creative authoring tool for professional DVD and Blu-ray Disc production, which allows you to create sophisticated, multilanguage DVD content with interactive menus, chapter points, and multiple audio and subtitle tracks. With the inclusion of Encore CS3, Adobe Premiere Pro no longer provides direct DVD authoring from the timeline. All authoring duties are handled by Encore.
Encore CS3
- Can I buy Encore CS3 separately?
- No, Adobe Encore CS3 software is sold only with Adobe Premiere Pro. However, customers who have previous versions of Adobe Encore DVD may upgrade to the full Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 product for the same upgrade price of US$299.
Adobe OnLocation CS3
- Can I buy Adobe OnLocation separately?
- No, Adobe OnLocation CS3 software is sold only with Adobe Premiere Pro CS3.
- Can I upgrade to OnLocation CS3 from a previous version of Serious Magic DV Rack?
- No, upgrades from DV Rack are not supported. You must purchase a new copy of Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 or upgrade an existing copy if you have one.
- Will Adobe OnLocation CS3 accept analog video signals?
- Adobe OnLocation does not support video streams from analog capture cards. There are various external analog to DV converter products on the market, and Adobe OnLocation has been tested successfully with several of them.
- Does Adobe OnLocation support PAL?
- Yes, the software is compatible with both PAL and NTSC DV signals.
- What are the recommended system requirements to run Adobe OnLocation CS3?
- Adobe OnLocation CS3 requires Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Home Edition or Microsoft Vista™ with the latest Service pack. For Macintosh users, Adobe OnLocation requires Bootcamp and Windows (purchased separately) or a separate Windows-based computer. - What is the compression ratio of recorded files? How many MB/Min?
- Adobe OnLocation CS3 records clips the same way they are recorded on tape on your camera DV25MB/Sec. This equates to approximately 3MB per second or 13GB per hour.
- Is there a Mac version of Adobe OnLocation?
- No, but Mac users can run Adobe OnLocation with Boot Camp and Windows installed on Intel based Mac computers. Alternatively, customers may install OnLocation on a separate Windows based laptop.
- Will I be able to use the captured video files in any nonlinear editing system?
- Adobe OnLocation outputs standard clips that can be used in any editing system.
