Features
Cross-platform — runs on Windows and Intel based Mac OS systems
Work on the platform of your choice. Adobe® OnLocation™ CS4 now runs natively on both Windows® and Intel® based Mac OS laptops and workstations, enabling you to take advantage of the full power of the application on either platform.
Familiar, customizable Adobe user interface
Get working quickly and efficiently with a user interface that looks and operates like the interface in the Adobe video and audio applications you already know. Adobe OnLocation CS4 is designed so that all functions are visible and available on a standard laptop screen, so you don't have to scroll and search through menus while on set.
Comprehensive XMP metadata
Use the Metadata panel to view, find, and add metadata to assets in the Shot List. Easily manage metadata across assets by selecting multiple items in the Shot List. The Metadata panel shows metadata that is common across the selected items and lets you apply changes to all with one action. Because the data is stored in XMP format, it flows automatically to your other Adobe audio and video applications.
Workflow integration with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4
Move content from Adobe OnLocation to Adobe Premiere® Pro software quickly and easily, while retaining important information. Use the Shot List to identify the good takes, and then use the transfer feature to collect those clips and transfer them for editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Metadata entered during shooting in Adobe OnLocation is available in Adobe Premiere Pro, helping to speed up the editing stage of production.
Shot List with multiple takes
Use Adobe OnLocation to manage your video shoot. Before shooting, create placeholder shots in the Shot List, complete with metadata. Adobe OnLocation can automatically create new takes each time you rerecord, with each take inheriting metadata from the master shot.
Fast logging
Log shots in the Shot List using a tabular interface that works like a spreadsheet. Navigate through the most commonly used data fields using the keyboard. Metadata is stored in XMP format. This fast, efficient method of data entry lets you gather more useful information at the time of the shoot, enabling greater efficiency in post-production.
Content search in the Shot List
Find the content you need quickly in the Shot List using the inline search feature. Type the first few letters of a keyword, and the list of files is filtered as you type so that only relevant items are shown. Search across all data fields or specify a particular field.
Keyboard-driven workflow
Drive Adobe OnLocation CS4 using keyboard commands, promoting fast, efficient operation while on set. For example, while checking continuity, using a keyboard shortcut to toggle between full and partial opacity in the monitor makes it easier to position the camera while checking the results.
Customizable keyboard shortcuts
Customize keyboard commands throughout the application so that it works the way you want. Save and recall keyboard shortcut sets to make it easier to move from system to system.
Comment markers
Use comment markers to make notes during recording. Comments are attached to the exact time in the content, making it easy to review specific parts of the recording while still at the shoot.
