Watermarks are text or graphics that appear either in the foreground or background of your printed documents. The Adobe® Watermark plug-in allows you to include watermarks created from text, PICT, or EPS files on your printed documents from nearly any application. To use watermarks with AdobePS™, select the watermark option in the Print dialog box and then choose the watermark you want printed on your document.

The Watermark plug-in is available for any Macintosh running system 7.1 or later and AdobePS 8.5 or later.

Additional features include:

Capability to add a graphic or text watermark to the foreground or background of almost any document
Capability to select a previously created watermark or define a new watermark when preparing to print the document
For text-only watermarks, the ability to enter the text and select the font, font style, size, and color of the watermark

Easy Installation
Installing the AdobePS Watermark plug-in is simple and does not require an installer. To install the Watermark plug-in:
  1. Copy the Watermark plug-in file into the Printer Descriptions folder located in the Extensions folder inside the System Folder.

Note: You do not need to restart the Macintosh. The Watermark option will be available the next time you open the Page Setup dialog box within an application. See the figure shown in the "Using Watermark Features" section for more details.

  2. To install the sample watermarks, place the Watermarks folder in the Preferences folder of your System Folder

Note: The Watermark plug-in can recognize only files in that folder. If you need to store your watermark files in another location, you may replace the Watermarks folder with an alias to a folder located elsewhere, but the name of the alias must be changed to Watermarks. If there is no Watermarks folder in the Preferences folder, the Watermark plug-in will create one when you select the Watermark panel in the Page Setup dialog box.

If there is no Watermarks folder in the Preferences folder, the Watermark plug-in will create one when you select Options in the Print dialog box and open the Print Options dialog box.
