In this article, I review the configuration, testing, and use of audio components in a Macromedia Breeze event in which the local audience can hear the remote presenters and the remote audiences can hear the local presenters, who are also amplified for a large local audience. This article gives Breeze technicians a blueprint for running the audio for this type of Breeze event.
After reading this article, you will be able to manage and troubleshoot the signal flow to ensure the highest quality audio experience for the live audience and remote Breeze listeners. By choosing the right equipment, knowing a few operational tips, and taking a few precautionary steps, you can run an event and successfully problem solve any issues that arise.
Requirements
To complete this tutorial you will need to install the following software and files:
Breeze Meeting
Tutorials and sample files:
- equipment_list.zip (ZIP, 2K)
Prerequisite Knowledge:
- A working knowledge of Breeze Meeting and experience running a Breeze meeting or event.
- Familiarity with desktop audio mixers and knowledge of some basic audio vocabulary: volume, panning, channel volume, fader, mic gain, attenuation.
- An ability to recognize the most common audio connector types (RCA, XLR, 1/4" – speaker cable, 1/8"- mini plug).
