FOLIO PRODUCER SERVICE
Upload content directly from within InDesign CS5.5 to produce digital publications. Use the Folio Producer Service (Organizer and Editor modes) to manage and publish .folio files to the Distribution Service.
- Upload InDesign CS5.5 page layouts and linked assets such as images, video, and audio using the Folio Builder panel in InDesign CS5.5.
- Create new .folio files and embed metadata such as title, description, or publication date for use in navigation with Content Viewer.
- Share .folio files with other designers, production staff, or key stakeholders for efficient access to content as it is updated or published.
- Drag and drop editorial and advertising content into the desired sequence. View .folio files by orientation or list view.
- Easily add articles to existing .folio files or copy articles from one .folio file to another.

- Set article priority to facilitate faster .folio file download, enabling consumers to start engaging with content more quickly.

DISTRIBUTION SERVICE
Store cross-platform publication files in the .folio format on a hosted fulfillment server and deliver publications to Content Viewer on different devices.
- Maintain content in a central repository ready for immediate delivery.
- Deliver your publications to Content Viewer on multiple devices, including iPad, tablets running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and 3.0 (Honeycomb), and BlackBerry PlayBook.
- Automatically notify readers of new content from within Content Viewer, including customized "push" notifications.
- Enable readers to download only the rendition of the publication pertinent to their device resolution and aspect ratio.
- Allow users to read a .folio file while they download another through progressive download.
E-COMMERCE SERVICE
Monetize digital content by selling publications through leading mobile marketplaces or directly from a publisher's website.
- Support single-issue, multiple-issue, or subscription-based in-application purchases directly from within readers' Content Viewer for iPad. In-app purchase of single or multiple .folio applications through Android Market and BlackBerry App World expected in Q3FY11.
- Support flexible e-commerce models, including subscriptions via Apple in-app purchase, direct sales from a publisher website, or monetization via a third-party content aggregator.
- Integrate print subscriber databases and fulfillment systems to merchandise to readers via print/digital bundling, promotional codes, and custom access control.*
