Qualified Education Entities for Southeast Asia

Singapore

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in Singapore that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (9) below:

  1. Kindergartens and special education schools registered with the Singapore Ministry of Education under the Education Act and listed under the Ministry of Education's web site (http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/preschool/find-a-kindergarten/ and http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/special-education/schoollist/ respectively, or successor web sites thereto);

  2. Primary schools, secondary schools, junior colleges and centralized institutes registered with the Ministry of Education under the Education Act and listed under the Ministry of Education's "School Information Service" portal (http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/index.asp or successor web site thereto);

  3. Autonomous universities, polytechnics and institutes established and incorporated pursuant to a Singapore Act of Parliament, as follows:

    (i) Institute of Technical Education;
    (ii) autonomous universities – National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University;
    (iii) polytechnics – Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic; or
    (iv) any other university, polytechnic and institute that may be established and incorporated pursuant to a Singapore Act of Parliament from time to time;

  4. The following privately funded international schools registered with the Ministry of Education:

    (i) ACS (International) Singapore;
    (ii) Hwa Chong International School;
    (iii) SJI International School; or
    (iv) any other international schools of similar character registered in the same manner with the Ministry of Education;

  5. Private education institutions registered with the Council for Private Education under the Private Education Act of Singapore that are:

    (i) Certified under the EduTrust Certification Scheme (http://www.cpe.gov.sg/cos/o.x?c=/cpe/pagetree&func=view&rid=436 or successor web site thereto) AND that grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;
    (ii) Publicly–funded private arts institutions as follows:

    (a) La Salle College of the Arts; or
    (b) Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts;

    (iii) "Foreign System Schools" or privately–funded international schools providing full–time instruction and which offer internationally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the British 'A' Levels programme or the equivalent of other national systems. Examples of schools in this category include the Singapore American School, Australian International School, United World College of South East Asia, Tanglin Trust School, Eton House International School etc.;
    (iv) Private foreign universities and institutes that offer degrees conferred in its own name and are established in Singapore under initiatives of the Singapore government, such as:

    (a) DigiPen Institute of Technology, Singapore
    (b) ESSEC Business School
    (c) German Institute of Science and Technology – TUM Asia
    (d) INSEAD
    (e) New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Asia
    (f) S.P. Jain Center of Management Singapore
    (g) The University of Chicago Booth School of Business
    (h) University of Nevada Las Vegas Singapore; or
    (i) Any other private university or institute that is similarly established; or
    (j) SIM University;
  6. Muslim religious schools set up in accordance with the Administration of Muslim Law Act;
  7. the National Institute of Education;
  8. Higher education research laboratories that are public institutions and registered with the Ministry of Education; or
  9. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.
    "Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (3) (ii) – (iv), 5 (i) (iv) & (v), (7), (8) or
  10. above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (9) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

"Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution" does not mean any individual student, tutor, lecturer, or schools or entities which do not grant academic degrees. Examples of non–qualified educational establishments (a non–exhaustive list) include:

(A) Childcare centres (unless such childcare centres also offer kindergarten programs);

(B) Vocational training centres, commercial training centres, skills centres, enrichment centres, tuition centres, education centres, correspondence schools, or other schools, granting certificates or providing courses on computer training, job training, tuition on school subjects, language, arts, music classes, or other subjects or topics, where such entities do not grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring at least the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;

(C) Alumni organizations of Educational Institutions;

(D) Museums or libraries;

(E) Hospitals not wholly owned and operated by an Educational Institution;

(F) Churches, mosques, temples or religious organizations that are not otherwise Educational Institutions;

(G) Military schools that do not grant academic degrees; and

(H) Research laboratories or institutes not registered with the Ministry of Education. For example, institutions recognized by other government branches or ministries are not eligible, regardless of any affiliation or ties with an Educational Institution.

Malaysia

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in Malaysia that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (9) below:

  1. (Pre–schools, national and national–type primary schools (which include 'Sekolah Kebangsaan', 'Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina' and 'Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil'), administered by the Malaysian Ministry of Education under the Education Act. The list of national and national–type primary schools may be obtained from the Ministry of Education's "Education Management Information System Portal (EMIS) (http://apps.moe.gov.my/emis/emis2/emisportal2/mainpage.php?module=CarianSekolah or successor web site thereto);
  2. National secondary schools, special education schools and matriculation colleges, administered by the Ministry of Education under the Education Act and listed under the Ministry of Education's "Institutions Directory" portal (http://www.moe.gov.my/index.php?id=32&act=institute or successor web site thereto);
  3. Public universities, polytechnics and community colleges administered by the Ministry of Higher Education and listed on the official portal of the Ministry of Higher Education or successor web site(s) thereto);
  4. Private academic institutions registered with the Ministry of Education under the Education Act and listed on the official portal of the Ministry of Education, as follows:

    (i) private pre–schools which adopt the National Pre–school Curriculum of the Ministry Of Education;
    (ii) private primary and secondary schools which adhere to the National Curriculum of the Ministry of Education (such as Sekolah Sri Garden, Sekolah Sri Cempaka and Sekolah Sri Bestari);
    (iii) private primary and secondary religious schools which use the National Curriculum of the Ministry of Education (such as Sekolah Rendah Islam Al–Amin, Sekolah Menengah Islam Al–Amin and Sekolah Rendah Islam Al–Islah);
    (iv) Chinese private schools which adhere to the Ministry Of Education Guidelines (such as Sekolah Menengah Pay Fong and Sekolah Menengah Chong Hwa);
    (v) Expatriate schools providing full–time instruction and offering foreign approved syllabus and curriculum (such as Sekolah Ekspatriat Japun, Sekolah Ekspatriat India, Sekolah Ekspatriat Chinese Taipei Kuala Lumpur etc.); or
    (vi) International schools which offer internally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education. Examples of schools in this category include Alice Smith School, Garden International School;

  5. Private universities, colleges and university colleges registered with the Ministry of Higher Education and listed on the official portal of the Ministry of Higher Education (http://www.portal.mohe.gov.my/portal/page/portal/ExtPortal/IPT/IPTS or successor web site thereto) AND which either (i) offer internationally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the British 'A' Levels programme, the Canadian matriculation programme or the equivalent of other national systems, or (ii) grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;
  6. Teacher Training Institutes under the purview of the Teacher Education Department of the Ministry of Education and listed on the official portal of the Ministry of Education (http://www.moe.gov.my/index.php?id=32&act=9&keyword=&opertation= or successor web site thereto);
  7. Islamic religious schools (sekolah agama rakyat) administered by the Ministry of Education;
  8. Higher education research laboratories that are public institutions and registered with the Ministry of Higher Education; or
  9. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.

"Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (3), (5), (6), (8) or (9) above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (9) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

Philippines

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in the Philippines that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (5 ) below:

  1. Public or private kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools, high schools that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, chartered and/or registered with/by the Philippines Department of Education and listed on the official portal of the Department of Education (http://www.deped.gov.ph/ or successor web site thereto);
  2. Public or private universities, colleges and institutions offering higher education that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, chartered, registered with and/or accredited by the Commission on Higher Education and listed in the directory on the official portal of the Commission on Higher Education (http://www.ched.gov.ph/ or successor web site thereto);
  3. Public or private technical and vocational institutions or colleges accredited and approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and listed on the official portal of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (http://www.tesda.gov.ph/ or successor web site thereto) AND that grant diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;
  4. Educational institutions established primarily for the teaching of children and/or dependents of foreign residents and which are registered or accredited by the Department of Education, such as the International School Manila and the Brent International School; or
  5. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.

"Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (2) or (5) above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – ( 5) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

"Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution" does not mean any individual student, tutor, lecturer, or schools or entities which do not grant academic degrees. Examples of non–qualified educational establishments (a non–exhaustive list) include:

(A) Childcare centres (unless such childcare centres also offer kindergarten programs);

(B) Vocational training centres, commercial training centres, skills centres, enrichment centres, review centre, tuition centres, education centres, correspondence schools, or other schools, granting certificates or providing courses on computer training, job training, tuition on school subjects, language, arts, music classes, or other subjects or topics, where such entities do not grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring at least the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;

(C) Alumni organizations of Educational Institutions;

(D) Museums or libraries;

(E) Hospitals not wholly owned and operated by an Educational Institution;

(F) Churches, mosques, temples or religious organizations that are not otherwise Educational Institutions;

(G) Military schools that do not grant academic degrees; and

(H) Research laboratories or institutes not registered with the Department of Education. For example, institutions recognized by other government branches or ministries are not eligible, regardless of any affiliation or ties with an Educational Institution.

Indonesia

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in Indonesia that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (6) below:

  1. Public or private kindergartens (Taman Kanak–kanak/TK, Raudhatul Athfal/RA, Kelompok Bermain/KB] and special education schools (SLB) that are (i) lawfully established and registered with the Indonesian Ministry of National Education; and (ii) acknowledged and supervised by the National Accreditation Agency for Schools and Madrasahs (BAN SM) and listed on its official web site http://www.ban-sm.or.id/ or successor web site thereto);
  2. Public or private primary schools (Sekolah Dasar, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah), junior primary schools (Sekolah Menengah Pertama, Madrasah Tsanawiyah), senior general secondary schools (Sekolah Menengah Atas, Madrasah Aliyah), senior vocational secondary schools (Sekolah Menegah Kejuruan, Madrasah Aliyah Kejuruan), that are (i) lawfully established, registered with and supervised by the Ministry of National Education or the Ministry of Religious Affairs (in respect of Madrasahs and pesantrens), AND (ii) acknowledged by the National Accreditation Agency for Schools and Madrasahs (BAN SM), as listed on its official web site;
  3. Public or private universities, institutes, academies, colleges, polytechnics that are lawfully established, administered, and/or registered with/by the Ministry of National Education AND acknowledged by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN PT), as listed on its official web site, which either:

    (a) offer academic courses of study that lead to a certification that is nationally recognized and acknowledged as part of Indonesia's mainstream educational progression;
    (b) offer internationally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the British 'A' Levels programme, or the equivalent of other national systems; or
    (c) grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;

  4. Teacher training institutes such as the University of Jakarta (previously known as IKIP (Institute of Teacher Education and Science)), the Education Quality Assurance Council (LPMP) and the Center of Teachers and Education Personnel Development and Empowerment (P4TK);
  5. Higher education research laboratories that are public institutions and registered with the Ministry of National Education; or
  6. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.

"Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (3) (c), (4), (5) or (6) above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (6) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

"Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution" does not mean any individual student, tutor, lecturer, or schools or entities which do not grant academic degrees. Examples of non–qualified educational establishments (a non–exhaustive list) include:

(A) Childcare centres (unless such childcare centres also offer kindergarten programs);

(B) Vocational training centres, commercial training centres, skills centres, enrichment centres, tuition centres, education centres, correspondence schools, or other schools, granting certificates or providing courses on computer training, job training, tuition on school subjects, language, arts, music classes, or other subjects or topics, where such entities do not grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring at least the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study and/or not registered with the Ministry of National Education and/or do not have accreditation or acknowledgement from the relevant National Accreditation Agencies;

(D) Museums or libraries;

(E) Hospitals not wholly owned and operated by an Educational Institution;

(F) Churches, mosques, temples or religious organizations that are not otherwise Educational Institutions;

(G) Military schools that do not grant academic degrees; and

(H) Research laboratories or institutes not registered with the Ministry of National Education. For example, institutions recognized by other government branches or ministries are not eligible, regardless of any affiliation or ties with an Educational Institution.

Thailand

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in Thailand that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (7) below:

  1. Public or private kindergartens, elementary schools, secondary schools that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, administered, chartered and/or registered with/by the Thai Ministry of Education;

  2. Public or private universities, institutes, colleges and other higher education institutions that are registered with and recognized by the Office of the Higher Education Commission of the Ministry of Education and listed on the official portal of the Office of the Higher Education Commission (http://www.inter.mua.go.th/main2/index.php or successor web site thereto) AND which either:

    (a) offer academic courses of study that lead to a certification that is nationally recognized as part of Thailand's mainstream educational progression;
    (b) offer internationally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the British 'A' Levels programme, or the equivalent of other national systems; or
    (c) grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two(2) years of full–time study;

  3. Colleges and institutes that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, administered, chartered and/or registered with/by the Vocational Education Commission AND which grant diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;
  4. Private international schools registered with the Ministry of Education and AND which offer internationally recognized academic programs such as the International Baccalaureate Diploma, International General Certificate of Secondary Education, the British 'A' Levels programme, the Canadian matriculation programme or the equivalent of other national systems;
  5. Teacher training institute currently known as Rajabhat University;
  6. Higher education research laboratories that are public institutions and registered with the Ministry of Education; or
  7. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.

"Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (2) (c), (5), (6) or (7) above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (7) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

"Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution" does not mean any individual student, tutor, lecturer, or schools or entities which do not grant academic degrees. Examples of non–qualified educational establishments (a non–exhaustive list) include:

(A) Childcare centres (unless such childcare centres also offer kindergarten programs);

(B) Vocational training centres, commercial training centres, skills centres, enrichment centres, tuition centres, education centres, correspondence schools, or other schools, granting certificates or providing courses on computer training, job training, tuition on school subjects, language, arts, music classes, or other subjects or topics, where such entities do not grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring at least the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;

(C) Alumni organizations of Educational Institutions;

(D) Museums or libraries;

(E) Hospitals not wholly owned and operated by an Educational Institution;

(F) Churches, mosques, temples or religious organizations that are not otherwise Educational Institutions;

(G) Military schools that do not grant academic degrees; and

(H) Office of the Higher Education Commission Research laboratories or institutes not registered with the Ministry of Education. For example, institutions recognized by other government branches or ministries are not eligible, regardless of any affiliation or ties with an Educational Institution.

Vietnam

"Educational Institution" or "Education Entity" means an academic institution located in Vietnam that meets one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (8) below:

  1. Public or private kindergartens possessing a valid establishment license issued by a people's committee (or one of its departments) at the district or higher level;

  2. Primary schools and secondary schools that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, administered, chartered and/or registered with/by the Ministry of Education and Training ("MOET") or a local department of education and training;
  3. Public or private technical and vocational institutions or colleges that are lawfully established, authorized, created, licensed, administered, chartered and/or registered with MOET or a local department of education and training, AND which grant diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;
  4. Public or private universities, institutes, colleges and other higher education institutions that are established by, registered with and/or recognized by MOET or a local department of education and training AND which either:

    a) offer academic courses of study that lead to a certification that is nationally recognized as part of Vietnam's mainstream educational progression; or
    (b) grant degrees, diplomas or certificates requiring not less than the equivalent of two (2) years of full–time study;

  5. Private international primary and secondary schools registered with MOET or a local department of education and training AND which offer internationally recognized academic programs ;
  6. Teacher training universities, colleges or institutes established by or registered with MOET or a local department of education and training;
  7. Higher education research laboratories that are public institutions and registered with MOET or a local department of education and training; or
  8. Educational establishments specifically named and approved by Adobe's Legal Department in writing.

"Higher Education Institution" shall mean an institution described in Sections (4), (6), (7) or (8) above.

Provided always that, notwithstanding that an educational establishment may have met with one or more of the criteria set forth in (1) – (8) above, Adobe may determine, in its sole discretion, not to approve any such educational establishment as an "Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution".

"Educational Institution", "Education Entity" or "Higher Education Institution" does not mean any individual student, tutor, lecturer, or schools or entities which do not grant academic degrees. Examples of non–qualified educational establishments (a non–exhaustive list) include:
