Nike

Experience
Lately, we’ve seen a push to make navigation more standardized, therefore more usable. But the most universal navigation sometimes feels a little dry. When the subject matter is really inventive, the interface should be too. With the Nike Skateboarding site, Odopod has created navigation that entertains and surprises. As you move your cursor, the interface bumps around revealing bits of content, like skaters and shoes. The result is a site that pushes it the same way the best skaters do.

Business Story
There are 16 million skaters in the U.S., making up a $1.4 billion industry. Nike wanted to connect with skaters, but the challenge was twofold. Skaters aren't Nike's core market, and they usually don't like being marketed to. The Nike Skateboarding site succeeds by delivering a relevant experience, not by hard-selling a reluctant audience. It's a great start in their bid to engage skaters.
