Welcome to the latest edition of Proxy, now with a newer media slant. In this issue, we’ll chat with John Maeda of MIT’s Media Lab. Maeda has been a leading voice for simplicity in the digital age. In a wide-ranging interview with Proxy contributor Charles Hall, he discusses his ideas on creativity, humor, gardening,
and more.
We’re also excited to announce big changes on Adobe.com. First off, be sure to check out the redesigned website, which is the product of merging Adobe.com and Macromedia.com. And for those who want more Adobe news and information, more of the time, we’ve also launched a new Adobe Design Center. Combining the download and tutorial-focused Adobe Design Center with the art and thought of the Adobe Motion Design Center, it promises to keep you inspired, informed, and up to date on all the latest developments in the design world.
Proxy also brings you its regular features on Adobe Creative Suite. Check out “Schoolin’” for the top ten keyboard commands in the Creative Suite software, as well as in-depth tutorials on web animation and optimizing your documents for searches in Adobe Bridge. In “Currents,” don’t forget to read about the new enhancements to the Adobe Stock Photos service. There’s also a “Scoop” on mobile design and a “Spotlight” on a new Lexar Media plug-in for Adobe Bridge.
Of course, that only scratches the surface, so we welcome you to tear off the cover and enjoy the contents.
