How do you get A. Job? It seems so easy. You apply, you go on an interview, and then they hire you. Right? Wrong. With today’s competitive market, most designers coming out of school have to compete for less and less creative jobs. What’s a pixel pusher/conceptualizer to do? Optimistically yours, Joy
First off, stay optimistic. In any profession, great jobs rarely materialize on the first interview. For the creative fields, it’s important to remember that working relationships are as important as the quality of work you produce. I would suggest getting involved with your local chapter of AIGA. There you’ll meet other designers and get to know who has a great studio and who’s hiring. Becoming a part of the profession means supporting the profession. AIGA is great place to start.
Until then, I put in some calls for you. My friends at AdamsMorioka said that any friend of mine is a friend of theirs. Call them and ask for an interview.
Good luck. Drop me A. Line when you can.
