Installing ActiveX system files

The system must have ActiveX-enabled versions of these Windows system files:

Actxprxy.dll
Wininet.dll
Inloader.dll
Urlmon.dll
Hlink.dll
Hlinkprx.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Stdole2.tlb
Wininet.dll
Inloader.dll
Schannel.dll

Microsoft distributes three installers that update the system files for ActiveX support:

Aprxdist.exe
Axdist.exe
Windist.exe

Include the Microsoft installers as part of your application's installation routine. You can find the latest versions on Microsoft's Active Platform web site.

Before you click the link below, print or write down these steps:

1 On the Active Platform page, click Downloads.
2 On the Downloads page, click ActiveX SDK for the PC.
3 On the Log On page:
If you're a member, enter your member ID and password, then click OK.
If you're not a member, click Join and sign up as a guest.
4 On the ActiveX SDK for the PC page, select ActiveX Redistributables as the file you want to download.
5 Click the Go to Download button and follow the instructions on the ActiveX Redistributables page.
Installing the latest version of Internet Explorer also installs the ActiveX system files.

Use the ActiveX Xtra function ActiveXInstalled in your piece to make sure the ActiveX system files have been installed properly.
