Release date: 02/11/2010

Getting Started

The Adobe® AIR® runtime enables you to have your favorite web applications with you all the time. Since applications built for Adobe AIR run on your desktop computer without a web browser, they provide all the convenience of a desktop application.

This document contains system requirements, installation instructions, known issues, and other information about using the AIR 1.5.3 runtime. Please refer to the Adobe AIR 1.5.1 and Adobe AIR 1.5.2 release notes for additional information.

Changes in AIR 1.5.3

Adobe AIR 1.5.3 is an update to the Adobe AIR runtime and SDK. The update includes improved reliability, compatibility, and security. It is recommended for all AIR users. AIR applications developed for previous versions of AIR do not need to be updated to work with this update.

An issue related to AIR applications crash on AMD Phenom processors has been resolved in this release.

Though 64-bit Linux is not supported officially, by installing 32-bit dependencies on it, it can be made to work. Please read here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408084.html
