If you are using the server configuration with an external web server, you must run the Web Server Configuration Tool after running the silent installer. You can execute one of the batch files (Windows) or shell scripts (UNIX) in cf_root/bin/connectors, or write a custom script that executes the Web Server Configuration Tool from the command line. You do not configure an external web server when using the J2EE configuration.

Note: (ColdFusion MX to ColdFusion MX 6.1 update only) If your ColdFusion MX install uses an external web server, the ColdFusion MX 6.1 silent install automatically updates the web server configuration.
