Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox 1.0.1 compatibility update for Dreamweaver CS4 Release Notes

About the 1.0.1 Update

The Adobe® Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox 1.0.1 addresses compatibility issues with Dreamweaver CS4. In addition, the update includes compatibility fixes for latest browser and Flash Payer versions. The update is required for customers that have upgraded to Dreamweaver CS4 and recommended for Dreamweaver CS3 customers.

Issues resolved with the 1.0.1 update

  • Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox does not install in Dreamweaver CS4. The update fixes compatibility problems with Dreamweaver CS4 and Extension Manager CS4. Version 1.0.1 can now be installed and used on these configurations.
  • Can't Update fields in Dynamic Form when File Upload. The update fixes the an incorrectly generated code issue on ASP/VBScript causing a runtime error.
  • Multiple Upload form control does not work with Flash Player 10. The update fixes a multiple file upload compatibility issue with Flash Player 10 which broke the functionality.
  • JavaScript Error when applying a Captcha from the command from the Developer Toolbox toolbar.
  • Editing and re-applying certain existing Server Behaviors results in incorrect code

System requirements

Windows

  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4
  • Adobe Extension Manager CS3 or CS4
  • One of the following web servers: Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.1 (Microsoft® Windows XP Professional) or 6.0 (Windows 2003) or 7.0 (for Windows Server 2008), Apache 1.3.x or 2.x, or the built-in web server in Macromedia® ColdFusion 6.0 or later
  • One of the following application servers: PHP 4.4.0 or later, ColdFusion 6.0 or later, ASP 5.5 or later
  • One of the following database servers: MySQL 4, MySQL 5, Access 2000, Access 2003, MS SQL Server 2003
  • If using PHP, the following libraries must be installed and enabled: Expat and mbstring. Expat is an XML parser library and should be built-in on most server installations. The mbstring library handles multibyte encodings in PHP. For image processing, one of the following image libraries must be installed: GD or ImageMagick 6.2.5 or later. ImageMagick needs execute permissions on web server. Each of these libraries have limitations to what image handling operations can perform. Please refer to the ADDT documentation and its tech notes.
  • If using ColdFusion, the following features must be enabled: XML parsing tags, createobject rights, shell rights on image lib, and the <cfhttp> tag. In addition, cfexecute must be allowed on the web server and one of the following image libraries must be installed: tmt_img, ImageMagick, CFX_Image 1.4.9, CFX_imageCR3 3.1. Each of these libraries have limitations to what image handling operations can perform. Please refer to the ADDT documentation and its tech notes.
  • If using ASP, the following libraries are required: Collaborative Data Object (for sending e-mail), MSXML library and WScript.Shell. For better image processing the following libraries could be installed: .NET framework installed and ASP.NET extension enabled for IIS or ImageMagick. Version 6.2.5 or later. Each of these libraries have limitations to what image handling operations can perform. Please refer to the ADDT documentation and its tech notes. In addition, the following configuration options must be installed / enabled: CreateObject rights, FileSystemObject, ParentPaths.

Install Notes

Installing Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox on Windows Vista® and Windows XP

The Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox extension must be installed using Adobe Extension Manager. If you don't have this Adobe application installed, refer to the Adobe Extension Manager Install Guide before trying to install Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox.

  1. Double-click the extension file (.MXP) in Windows Explorer (Windows).
  2. Read the Adobe extensions disclaimer, and select Accept to continue with the installation, or select Decline to cancel the installation.
  3. You must close and then restart Dreamweaver for the changes to take effect.

If you have previously installed XML Export registration incentive into Dreamweaver CS3, you may be asked to overwrite existing files. Select Yes To All to accept these changes.

Installing Dreamweaver Developer Toolbox on Mac OS X
