  • Intel Pentium® III or higher.
  • Microsoft XML Library - MSXML 4. If this component is missing on the system, one can download it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads
  • Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or Win XP with service pack 2.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, XP or 2003.
  • At least 128 MB of RAM (256 MB recommended).
  • At least 100 MB of free space to install.
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.
  • For viewing content browsers supported include Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.0, Netscape® Navigator™ 7.2, FireFox® 1.0.x, Safari™ 1.1, 1.2 and 2.0.
  • Flash® Player 6.0 or higher.

Product Updates

  • Installing Adobe Presenter 6 will install Flash Player 9.
  • Installing Adobe Presenter 6 will uninstall the earlier Breeze Presenter 5.1. This does not mean that the earlier settings of Presenters and themes will be lost, but instead will be copied to the new location for use in the current Adobe Presenter.
  • The problem with REALTEK sound cards has been fixed. So now users with REALTEK cards will able to record audio for their content from within Presenter.
  • Users can now import audio files from Double Byte Character Paths.
  • The names and duration of imported audio files will persist when the Import Audio dialog is re-invoked.
  • Users now have the option to either compress or preserve (not compress) imported audio.  The new default is to preserve audio quality. File sizes with uncompressed audio may increase. The option to compress imported audio is available in Adobe Presenter > Import Audio.
  • The new help viewer is an additional component that has been integrated with the product. It can be used to view the help content of other Adobe products like Acrobat 8 installed on the system.
  • There have been updates to ensure that courses taken over low bandwidth do not get stuck.
  • A control to disallow preloading and playing of Captivate swf movies before the user comes to that published slide has been added. It is available in Adobe Presenter > Preferences > Quality (tab) and users are advised to check this box when embedding flash movies made from Captivate.
  • Asset (attachments, audio, flash videos) management has been improved. Now when a user renames an existing presentation, the file’s assets will be copied to the new location.
  • A ‘Send Interval’ field has been added to Adobe Presenter > Quiz Manager > Reporting (tab) > Advanced > Settings, where a user can specify the number of slides after which resume data should be sent to the LMS server.
  • Many quiz formatting issues encountered when quiz questions are modified have been resolved.
  • The navigation sidebar may now be removed using the Theme Editor options.

Known Issues

  • On Win 2k installing Adobe Presenter 6 may invoke a Restart message. This happens if Flash Player 9 was previously installed on the system. If either yes or no are selected in the dialog box, the Presenter installation will continue to completion, and no restart is required.
  • Uninstalling Adobe Presenter 6 will not uninstall Flash Player 9.
  • Deleting Audio from the Audio Editor may change the time duration of that slide. User should publish locally and verify the timing aspect.
  • Unsupported Audio formats embedded in the PowerPoint file will not be exported to the Presenter output. However the timing of the slide in Presenter’s output may get affected. User may need to manually edit the timing of such slides.
  • For rearranging question slides within a quiz use the PowerPoint slide view. The change will reflect in the Quiz manager. Continue to use the Quiz Manager to create any new questions (do not copy and paste an existing question to create a new question).
  • User can use PowerPoint formatting options to reformat a question slide.
